David Noonan and James Lance of Noonan Lance Boyer & Banach LLP Receive Top 50 Rankings in 2021 San Diego Super Lawyers

David J. Noonan Ranked in Top 10, Ethan T. Boyer, Micaela P. Banach Also Named to Super Lawyers’ List

Noonan Lance Boyer & Banach LLP has announced that four of its partners are on the 2021 San Diego Super Lawyers list. Notably, David Noonan is recognized in the “Top 10 San Diego Attorneys” list; James Lance is listed in the “Top 50 San Diego Attorneys”; and Ethan Boyer and Micaela Banach both made the “San Diego Super Lawyers” list for business litigation.

Meeting Super Lawyers’ rigorous standards, these four NoonanLance partners selected have considerable expertise in all aspects of commercial litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants and taking on some of California’s most challenging cases. NoonanLance attorneys are some of San Diego’s most experienced commercial litigators, handling a wide range of cases in state and federal court, as well as arbitration.

With an impressive trial record, Noonan is listed on the Top 10 list for the seventh time. Noonan recently led a trial that asked the Fourth District Court of Appeal to affirm a judgment in favor of their client, a government pension fund. The affirmance ended 10 years of litigation from hundreds of plaintiffs and a putative class action, successfully defended by Noonan.

Focusing his practice on complex commercial litigation, Lance recently defended the CrossFit v. NSCA case and achieved a settlement after contentious litigation. In 2019, Lance secured the dismissal of a $30 million federal lawsuit brought by the United States against client Dr. Tarek Shawaf and won a unanimous defense verdict for a Colorado lawyer, Scott Larson, who was accused of defrauding a San Diego attorney out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees. This is Lance’s second year on the prominent Top 50 list.

Firm partners Noonan and Lance have been listed for more than 10 years respectively. Both attorneys have decades of experience with leadership positions in San Diego County Bar Association, the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), among other organizations.

Annually, no more than five percent of lawyers are honored as Super Lawyers. Selection is made through a statewide survey of lawyers, independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews within each practice area. The Super Lawyers lists are published nationwide in Super Lawyers Magazine, leading city and regional magazines and newspapers across the country. A full description of the methodology behind Super Lawyers’ selection process can be found on its website.
