Noonan Lance Boyer & Banach LLP Attorneys Named to 2018 Best Lawyers® in America List

Noonan Lance Boyer & Banach LLP has announced that three of its lawyers have been named to the 2018 Edition of Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer review publication in the legal profession.

David J. Noonan, James R. Lance and Ethan T. Boyer all received the 2018 Best Lawyers in America® distinction for Commercial Litigation, with Noonan also receiving distinctions for Bet-the-Company Litigation and Legal Malpractice Law – Defendants.

“Best Lawyers is the most effective tool in identifying critical legal expertise,” said Best Lawyers CEO Steven Naifeh. “Inclusion on this list shows that an attorney is respected by his or her peers for professional success.”

For over 40 years, David J. Noonan has built an impressive career – representing high profile clients, serving in leadership positions in San Diego’s major legal organizations and receiving numerous recognitions from distinguished organizations. Before becoming one of the founding partners of NoonanLance, Noonan was a founding partner at Kirby Noonan Lance & Hoge, an award-winning law firm. There he managed a diverse clientele that included Fortune 500 companies, Am Law 100 law firms and professional athletes. He has served as president of the San Diego County Bar Association, the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, the San Diego County Bar Foundation and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), San Diego Chapter. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers for over 22 years.

James R. Lance is a founding partner of NoonanLance and a high profile trial attorney. Complex commercial litigation is the focus of his practice. Lance has tried cases in federal and state courts for both plaintiffs and defendants. He often represents clients in “bet the company” litigation. When representing plaintiffs, Lance has obtained numerous verdicts, judgments and settlements in excess of $1 million each for his clients.

For the past six years, Lance has been awarded the Best Lawyers designation for Commercial Litigation. In 2013, Lance accepted admission to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an organization which required completion of 20 jury trials to verdict as lead counsel before membership consideration.

As managing partner of NoonanLance, Ethan T. Boyer dedicates his practice to resolving complex business and commercial disputes. Boyer has successfully handled all aspects of commercial and business litigation in trials, arbitrations and appeals. Since 2015, Boyer has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America® by his peers for Commercial Litigation.

Outside the courtroom, Boyer is active in the legal community and is a member of multiple organizations including: Association of Business Trial Lawyers of San Diego; the San Diego Intellectual Property Law Association; Federal Bar Association, San Diego Chapter; and he previously served on the board of directors for the San Diego County Bar Foundation and San Diego Barristers Club.

Best Lawyers has published its list for more than three decades, earning the respect of the profession, the media and the public as the most reliable, unbiased source of legal referrals. Attorneys included in the lists are chosen by peer-review surveys in which tens of thousands of leading attorneys confidentially evaluate their peers based on their professional expertise.
