Noonan Lance Boyer & Banach LLP has announced that four of its partners have been recognized on the “2023 San Diego Super Lawyers” list for business litigation. David J. Noonan has again been listed on the “Top 10: 2023 San Diego Super Lawyers;” Micaela P. Banach is recognized on the “Top 25: 2023 San Diego Women Super Lawyers;” James R. Lance is again named on the “Top 50: 2023 San Diego Super Lawyers” list; and Ethan T. Boyer is included on the “Super Lawyers – Business Litigation” list. The four NoonanLance founding partners have repeatedly been acknowledged in Super Lawyers lists throughout their careers.
With decades of experience, David Noonan has been included in the “Top 10 San Diego Southern California Super Lawyers” category five times and on the “Top 50 Southern California Super Lawyers” list eight times. Noonan works with high-profile clients and has held numerous leadership positions in major San Diego legal organizations, including as president of the San Diego County Bar Association and the San Diego Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a prestigious national organization of trial lawyers who are selected by invitation only. Noonan also has been named one of the “Best Lawyers in America” for commercial litigation for more than 20 years.
James Lance’s practice is focused on complex commercial litigation and serious personal injury. This is the fifth straight year Lance has been selected to the “Top 50 San Diego Super Lawyers” list. Lance is an accomplished trial attorney who represents plaintiffs and defendants. He has obtained numerous verdicts, judgments and settlements over $1 million for his plaintiff clients and equally excellent results for his defense clients in bet-the-company litigation. Lance was invited to join ABOTA in 2013, and is the vice president of the ABOTA San Diego Chapter for 2023, and president-elect for 2024. Lance’s community service includes spearheading ABOTA’s partnership with an underserved high school – arranging presentations and mentoring by judges, attorneys and others providing legal services with the goal of motivating students to consider careers/internships in the legal field. In addition to his selection as a “Top 50 San Diego Super Lawyer” for five years, Lance has appeared on the “Best Lawyers” list for commercial litigation, real estate litigation and legal malpractice litigation for the last 16 years.
Micaela Banach has an impressive track record of securing effective results for clients throughout her nearly 20-year career, including a multi-million dollar judgment in a fraud and securities action. Her practices are focused on business and employment litigation, and she has tried numerous cases to verdict. This is Banach’s first selection to the “Top 25: 2023 San Diego Women Super Lawyers” list, and she has repeatedly appeared on the “San Diego Super Lawyers” list including as a “Rising Star” three years in a row. She also was recognized in “Women of Influence in Law” by the San Diego Business Journal in 2021 and “Top 40 under 40 Business Professionals” by the San Diego Daily Transcript in 2016. Banach is the former president of the San Diego County Bar Foundation, having served on its board for seven years.
In addition to being featured as a “San Diego Super Lawyers – Business Litigation,” Ethan Boyer has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2015 in commercial and business litigation. Boyer dedicates his practice to resolving complex business and commercial disputes, including intellectual property matters, real estate and product liability cases. Boyer has successfully handled all aspects of commercial and business litigation, in trials, arbitrations and appeals. He served on the San Diego County Bar Foundation’s board of directors for seven years, served on the San Diego Barristers Club’s board of directors and is a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of San Diego.
To be recognized on the San Diego Super Lawyers list, attorneys go through a multiphase selection process that considers 12 indicators of peer recognition, professional achievement, and independent research.
